February 1, 2011- Elizabeth Powell

Epic, I wish I could tell you how cool I think you are. Really though, you are wonderful and it blows my mind how beautifully aware you are of God's presence in your life at such a young age. EP and I met when I was fifteen and she was still a baby thirteen year old in the blue ridge mountains of good 'ole Camp Merri-Mac. The first thing I remember doing, other then giving her a nickname, was stealing her turkey trot shirt which I still to this day wear. Camp is great at bringing people of all ages and backgrounds together, and I cannot imagine being friends with a girl as cool as EP outside of camp, so thank Jesus I got to meet her there!

One of the coolest things about EP is her easy going attitude about life and all that comes with it. Every curve ball she is thrown she hits out of the ballpark with a smile on her face and no, I wasn't intentionally referring to her baller athletic skills but I guess being captain of the basketball team is a pretty big deal... Epic was probably the most encouraging and loving thirteen year old I have ever known, and to this day has only grown in her relationship with the Lord which makes her encouragement and love that much more beautiful. She is a passionate girl and I respect that very much about her.

The greatest thing I have learned from EP is somewhat cliche, but so true about her: work hard; play hard. This girl works her butt of for what she wants and when it is time to play, she is the queen of fun! It is an important balance to find between serious and silly, and somehow at the mere age of sixteen, she has conquered it. EP, you are amazing. I love watching God mold you into the woman you are becoming and I know you will do incredible things with the gifts He has blessed you with. I love you forever.

Psalm 68:3
"But let the godly rejoice. Let them be glad in God’s presence. Let them be filled with joy."
